Luxury Bathroom Layout. Creating a modern Luxury Bathroom is not such a daunting task as many may believe. It does take some imagination and planning but the rewards are quite dramatic in many cases. The key to it is not compromising on what effect or look you actually want. One should get a picture in their minds eye of what exactly it is that they desire and in most cases it can be translated into a physical reality. Almost any existing bathroom area can be transformed into a modern Luxury Bathroom providing one is willing to put the effort into it.
Design Layout First and foremost one should work out what style you desire your Bathroom to be. Is it to be a Classic Bathroom, Elegant Bathroom, Modern Bathroom? These are questions that one should ask themselves and then come to a decision and stick with that decision. The layout of a proposed Bathroom is important and it must have correct flow lines to give it a desirable effect. The layout starts from when you walk in through the Bathroom door, imagine how it will look and follow your line of sight to place your fixtures and fittings in a balanced way. Play with different layouts until a simple but effective result transpires. With a bit of effort you can truly redesign your bathroom to exactly how you want it. One should study various designs and ideas in magazines and try them in your bathroom space. But remember simplicity in function and design is the key. Then come to a conclusion on what it is that you want and need in your Bathroom.
Quality Quality is an all encompassing factor in Bathroom Renovation, it includes workmanship, choice of fixtures and fittings, color combinations of tiles, size of tiles all contribute to the quality of the finished product. In the end quality means peace of mind knowing full well that the job has been done correctly. For example a vital factor in Bathroom Renovation or rectification is waterproofing. There are numerous stories of failed waterproofing ruining Bathrooms and factually none of these need have occurred if only the correct waterproofing was done.Proper waterproofing is very involved and is part and parcel of a quality Bathroom Renovation as it prevents leakage and damage to a bathroom and must never be skimped over.
Bathroom Fixtures and Fittings Fixtures and fittings are a very important part of a Bathroom Renovation as it does decide the look of the final product. These include Tap ware, Basins, Vanities, Toilet Suites, Baths, Spas and Tiles.and when chosen correctly make for a spectacular result in terms of Bathroom look and ambience. Make sure that all fixtures are also functional and are of good quality. Tiles are a fundamental to a functional elegant Bathroom , today there are numerous choices on the market and it is up to you to decide which ones will suite. Larger size tiles have become popular today and have the effect of making a smaller space seem taller when laid in a vertical pattern. Using smaller tiles in a horizontal pattern will make a short space have the appearance of being longer. The color and finish of the tiles are also important as color co-ordination is the make break point of a truly aesthetic bathroom.
Cost Expense is part and parcel of a Modern Luxury Bathroom Renovation as quality has and always will cost more. Contrary to common belief the current state of the Bathroom makes little difference to the overall cost. The reason for this is that any reputable bathroom renovator will always start from scratch , meaning the space will be stripped out completely and will be totally rebuilt from the ground up. This means that the floor in most instances will be totally replaced and levelled the same is done with the walls, proper waterproofing will be done and anything that needs to be replaced will be. Basically a brand new room is constructed so that the finished Bathroom will be of excellent quality. This is the only way to really attain a quality Luxury bathroom and there is a cost involved with this. Many people do have Budgets that they wish to not exceed and this is understandable but from experience cheaper is not always better and can result in future problems because things were not done right at the start. In the end being willing to go the extra cost will pay in long term dividends and will always add more value to a home than a budget job. Even a not very knowledgeable person can instinctively tell the difference between a quality product and a cheaper version.
Planning a new bathroom or remodeling an existing one? Use these bathroom layout tips to create an intimate, rejuvenating space.
Your bathroom layout master plan starts with drawing a scale footprint, or floor-plan. Grab your measuring tape, a ruler and some graph paper. A scale of 1/4 inch to 1 foot (or 2 cm to 30 cm) is standard. If you’re using a computer program instead of paper, the idea is still the same.
I encourage you to take plenty of time at this stage. Try different layouts. You’ll intuitively go back to the ones that work best for you.
The following are a few of the minimum measurements to keep in mind as you brainstorm your layout:
*Provide a minimum of 12 inches (30 cm) between a bathtub or shower and the other fixtures like toilets or vanity cabinets. Designers, remodeling contractors and plumbing suppliers usually call larger, free-standing, plumbed-in pieces fixtures. Faucets, shower heads, handles, etc. are referred to as fittings.
*A toilet needs a minimum of 4 feet, 6 inches from the wall it’s mounted against to the opposite wall…and a minimum side to side measurement of 30 inches (76 cm)…and 36 inches (90 cm) is better.
*A minimum of 6 feet (1.8 m) of counter space is necessary to accommodate 2 sinks. Also make sure to allow at least 28 inches (71 cm) centered at each sink for a person to stand comfortably and have plenty of elbow room while grooming.
Bathroom Layout Reflects Our Changing Habits and Attitudes
No room in our homes has changed more over time like the bathroom has.
The trend has been toward larger, more luxurious bathrooms where we can linger, relax and feel rejuvenated.
Consider finding a focal point for your bathroom as you would with a living room layout.
Bathroom design ideas that expand window space to let in more natural light can still provide privacy by incorporating textured acrylic window panels, glass block or sheer window coverings. And, there’s nothing that makes a great focal point like a window with view.
Freestanding tubs from antique claw-foot tubs to new bathtubs in sculptural shapes provide great focal points for your bathroom layout.
If you have the space, define different zones in your layout. You can create defined areas for bathing, dressing, grooming, lounging, even exercising.
Bring Your Unique Style to Your Bathroom As You Would the Rest of Your House!
Antique armoirs and chests can be adapted to be vanity cabinets, plumbed for vessel sinks or fitted with stone counter-tops.
Bring in chairs for reading. Wooden end tables and benches add texture and homey warmth along with function.
